Notice is hereby given that a vote of Hamiota Municipality will be taken to elect Mayor and Councillors from the following duly nominated candidates:
For the office of Mayor
- Andrew, Jennifer
- Lints, Randy
- Mollard, Tom
For the offices of Councillor:
- Brethour, Ed
- Gray, Ross
- Harrison, Cal
- Kirk, Les
- Lawn, Kenneth
- Routledge, Lance
- Tiller, Kelvin
- Tolton, Ryan
VOTING PLACES
Voting places will be open for voting on Wednesday, the 28th day of October 2026 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at: Hamiota Community Hall – 50 4th Street
IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE. A person may be required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification (for example – driver’s license or passport) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity.
NON-RESIDENT VOTERS MUST PRESENT THEIR PROOF OF LAND OWNERSHIP BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE with a piece of government issued photo identification or at least two other documents that provide proof if identity.
ADVANCE VOTING
For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but who have reason to believe that they will be absent or otherwise unable to attend their proper voting place on election day, an advance voting opportunity will be held on Wednesday, 21st day of October 2026 and will be located at the following location and times:
- Hamiota Community Hall – 1:00PM to 7:00PM
- Birch Lodge PCH – 1:00 to 1:30PM
- Lilac Residence – 1:30PM to 2:30PM
- Park Residence – 2:30PM to 3:30PM
APPLICATION TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE
A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person, in writing, or by email to the senior election official at 75 Maple Avenue, Hamiota, MB R0M0T0 and hedc@hamiota.com
If applying in person, a voter may apply between September 30 and October 16, 2026
*A voter applying in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.
If applying by mail or email, a voter may apply between July 30 and October 16, 2026.
** A voter applying by mail or email will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the senior election official.
