November 9th, 2019: Wine & Beer Tasting
We hosted a wine and beer tasting event in the Hamiota Community Centre where newcomers and existing residents could mingle.
There was a tasting of four wines and four beers with cheese pairings, which we were guided through by Manitoba Liquor Mart expert, Riley.
Then we were treated to a social with two live local bands, local favourites, Prairie Roots and in their debut performance, HFC (Hamiota Filipino Community) Band! Both were amazing and fun times were had by all. By the end of the night both bands were jamming together. Great community spirit!
We donated all profits to the Hamiota Lions Club who helped us with serving during the tasting and running the bar at the social. We thank them for all their support during our event. Some members of our group presented a cheque for $4,100.91 to the Hamiota Lions Club on November 19th, 2019 to go towards the Hamiota Lions Playground fund.
September 7th, 2019: Check Hamiota Out!
In the spirit of bring community groups together and educating the public about the opportunities in our community, we had our inaugural community group registration and information session. We wanted community organizations to be able inform people about their organization and encourage sign ups.
We had most of the community organizations from Hamiota and area come out. These groups have opportunities for people in areas: of Arts, Culture, Sports, Hobbies, Activities and Volunteering. Lunch was provided by the Hamiota Agricultural Society.
We are hoping to do this every year in Spring and Fall. Watch out for our Spring 2020 session!
Check Out our local community groups.
May 26th, 2019: Hamiota Town Clean Up
We put on our 1st event of the year with a town-wide clean up and BBQ! We worked together with the Hamiota Lions Club to put on the BBQ lunch in conjunction with their Walk for Dog Guides Hamiota event.
