A YELLOW weather notification has been issued for Manitoba for Wednesday, December 17 to Thursday, December 18, 2025.
An area of snow will impact southern Manitoba midweek as an Alberta Clipper system moves through the region beginning on Wednesday morning and ending Thursday midday. Strong gusty winds will accompany this system, leading to blowing snow in many areas across southern Manitoba. Traffic disruptions are likely due to snowfall and blowing snow.
There is moderate to high confidence many areas will be impacted by heavy snow, including Brandon and Winnipeg, receiving 15 cm or more snow in a 24-hour period, with some areas reaching as high as 25 cm. Strong winds will drastically reduce the visibility in many areas, including along the Trans-Canada highway and within the Red River Valley. There is also a slight chance of freezing rain over extreme southwest areas, leading to slippery road conditions.
